Rocky the Teckel (1200-0834)
by Currey
Whimsical in terracotta, Rocky the Teckel is a sculpture by the emerging Thai artist Nhut Nhathawut. with an expression that is so lifelike that it feels he may bark at any moment, there are a number of artisanal aspects to the canine sculpture. This includes the obvious strokes of the artist's tools that play along the surface of the dog's body. Brownlee Currey had some fun with this dachshund, describing his reality as, "Known for only biting below the knee, he was last seen wading in the ocean just off Miami."
